The premise itself is quite good. Mild mannered Bob loses his job and goes on a killing spree. The author did have some good ideas, however those ideas just didn't come together very well. ( ) Questa recensione è stata scritta per gli Omaggi dei Membri di LibraryThing . This was a nightmare to read not because it was scary but on how it was written. In one paragraph the author suddenly shifts perspectives and the author also has a tendency to repeat and rephrase. The last chapter is the most redundant chapter. It also feels rushed. Everybody in this story is a drunk. It was short but not engaging. Questa recensione è stata scritta per gli Omaggi dei Membri di LibraryThing . Interesting novella of the downward spiral of a middle aged man who has done the right thing all his life and ends up with nothing, that is until he finds a purpose. Not a bad story, couple of editing flaws that don't really detract, just made me have to reread the sentence context but wasn't a bad way to spend an hour in the sun. I am a horror fan, but this book just wasn't so good. The idea of a 52 year old man losing everything due to downsizing and divorce, then cracking and going on a murder spree seems like it could be a good story. American Nightmare-I liked the title, the story telling wasn't horrible, but it was bad. There was a lot of repeating- Bob is a 52 year old man, ex wife an alcholic, handyman neighbor an alcoholic, cabin handyman an alcoholic.... This was a free e book, and I did read it pretty quickly-while waiting for an oil change and then finished up at home, but I wouldn't recommend it to any friends. Questa recensione è stata scritta per gli Omaggi dei Membri di LibraryThing . Truly, the American Nightmare.Bob is in his 50’s, worked hard, put everyone’s needs above his own, never said no. Take it all away. His wife divorced him and limited his visitations to his children and his boss fired not only him, but everyone else in his company since it is being outsourced. Bob finally snapped. A dark side emerged with rage, fury and a primal need for revenge in disturbing ways. Bob feels no guilt with the killing of others. While the book could be written a bit better and some grammatical errors need to be corrected, it is a haunting story of how the mind can only handle so much. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
