Bound By Darkness is book eight in the Guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy. I am slowly making my way through this wonderful series. We get surprises, twist and turns, great characters, adventure, and more.

Jaelyn, a Hunter and a vampire. I loved how strong and independent she is. She is dedicated to her task as a Hunter. I like to read about women who don’t need a man, but that they would like one to want them and acknowledge what they are and can do.

Ariyal, a Sylvermyst Fae, warrior, and Prince of his people. I loved him and especially how he acknowledges that Jaelyn is a fierce fighter and can kick ass or take care of herself. Yes he struggles with wanting to keep her safe and letting her be the strong independent women she is.

Ms. Ivy has created a unique and fun series. I enjoy how strong, independent, and well-developed all the characters are in these books. Oh course I can not forget about Levet he always brings a smile to my face and humor to whatever situation is going on. Jaelyn and Ariyal have some great banter and even though they feel the attraction their is great sexual tension and pursuit before these two become a couple. I also love when an author brings previous characters back into the books. We get that here and the characters have some significant roles. We are also brought deeper into the plot of The Dark Lords return and impending apocalypse.

I am enjoying this series and look forward to continuing the Guardians of Eternity. I like the characters, direction of the plot and world. If you have not tried out this series I recommend giving it a shot. Each book builds on the other and are best read in order.

Enjoyed this book. The Dark Lord's plans advance. A Silver Mist & Vamp reconcile their differences. The Immortals are introduced and though things are reported to be fine their world is not as perfect as they think. Entertaining story. ( )

The barrier to entry this far into the series was too high for me to make it. Too many names and too much backstory flew by, I had to read in slow motion to get through the first few chapters. Even once I had picked out the characters to focus on out of all the rest, the emphasis is on the plot and the sex rather than the relationship, a strategy I couldn't stay interested past the first hundred or so pages. The writing was good, and maybe to a reader who was up to speed on the backstory, the lot would have been enough of a hook to keep going. I may try back at the beginning of the series later.

It is a part of the "Guardians of Eternity" series,visit the author's website for a complete list.As this is my first book by this author and I had no difficulty in following the storyline,so I would consider this to be a easily read as a stand alone. "Bound by Darkness" is Jaelyn and Ariyal's story. Ariyal is a Sylevemyst,fey and mysterious. He was sold to Morgana,who was not only evil but enjoyed torture,to save his tribe from banishment,but is now free. Jaelyn,a vampire warrior,beautiful,lethal,works alone,and has been sent to capture Ariyal. "Bound By Darkness" has everything a paranormal romance reader could possible want. It has romance,love,fey,vampires, lust,sensuality, passion,danger,destiny,and a whole lot more. A fast paced,paranormal with twists and turns. A must read for any paranormal,romance,suspense readers. Review

Bound by Darkness is the ninth book in The Guardians of Eternity series, I have read all of them and I like the series a lot. This book wasn't my favorite, it was good, a pleasant way to pass an afternoon but it wasn't a book I couldn't put down. In this book the heroine is a female vamp named Jaelyn sent by oracles to capture a Sylvermyst named Ariyal. The oracles change her mission from bringing Jaelyn in to staying with him and keeping tabs allowing their attraction to grow.

What I like about this series is the female leads can kick ass while still being a girl, and the guys are always a little bit flawed, makes the characters a little more real for me and a lot easier to get into their stories and cheer them on. Levet, what can you say he's my favorite character in the whole series. My biggest complaint was there wasn't enough of him in this book. It does a good job of setting up the next books to come in the series, couples that will get together and the battle with the Dark Lord isn't over yet. So I look forward to the next one.
