Some poetry I really click with, some I don't. This collection of poetry was a mixed bag for me--some of the poems I really really liked, especially after spending time this summer exploring parts of Nebraska I'd never seen before. Some of the poems were just not my thing. Worth checking out, though, for those one or two poems that will just resonate with your soul. ( )

the land belongs to the future...' that's the way it seems to me. How many of the names on the county clerk's plat will be there in fifty years? I might as well try to will the sunset over to my brother's children. We come and go, but the land is always here. And the people who love it and understand it are the people who own it - for a little while.
--Alexandra, in Willa Cather's O Pioneers!
