Again, I was excited to read this book. I loved Sleeping Beauty as a child, and I love Vampires now, so what better way to spend a few days than immersed in two things that I love?
Sleeping Beauty: Vampire Slayer is a wonderful twist to the Classic Fairy Tale of Sleeping Beauty. "Rose" better known as Lucette is Sleeping Beauty. From the beginning this story had me hooked. With the Naming Ceremony, the fairies and Queen Natasha ( the vampire queen). The curse that is set forth by Queen Natasha and then amended by the fairies is a lot like the original curse in the classic, but with a few adjustments.
The curse basically states that if Lucette pricks her finger/draws blood anytime after the age of 16 she will be awake all night and asleep all day, while the rest of the kingdom will do the exact opposite, essentially leaving Lucette alone with the vampires.
Be advised that there are 8 possible routes through this book and I have only read two of them so far, but what I have read and the way that Lucette must choose between two loves, will have me reading more this summer!! ( )

This was a fun book to read and I love that you can reread several times due to the alternate endings. ( )

Sleeping Beauty: Vampire Slayer....what an interesting concept. This book was excellent. A good mix of the original fairy tale and a sprinkling of exciting vampire slaying. I really enjoyed that the book was broken out into sections so that you could make the choice of what would happen next. I haven't read many books where you could decide the direction that the story takes, but I always enjoy them when I do. Lucette is a very strong female lead with two very deserving suitors...Excellent story! ( )

It's been a couple of days since I finished this and I'm still not entirely sure how I feel. I've always loved any kind of a twist on a fairy tale, and the idea of Sleeping Beauty and vampires sounded like it would be entertaining. When I found out it was choose your own adventure I was a little unsure because I read this on the kindle and I wasn't too sure about how that would flow on a kindle, particularly since it was a transfered document rather then a regular e-book.

I liked the twist on the evil fairy being a vampire queen instead. I liked Lucy even though at times she made me nuts. I loved that when you were offered choices of what to do next, Lucy's rationale was explained. She wanted to this because.... or the other due to.....

I hated that regardless of what path you took, the ending was the same. I remember chose your own adventure being about how you could get all of these different outcomes. I also found it kind of silly that they listed all the different combinations at the end. I would have liked to figure it out on my own. I also did have some difficulty manuevering on the kindle. I think in the end this book was kind of half and half for me. ( )
