It's Thanksgiving and once again a murder happens at the church and Cindy and Rabbi Silverman work together to solve it.

I recommend you read this series in order. There is a murder mystery that is the main thread of this story, however there is a serial thread running behind the scenes. ( )

Book 2 in The Psalm 23 Mysteries did not disappoint. I read this one on the heals of finishing the first, "The Lord is My Shepherd". This mystery takes place several months after the first and was nicely crafted again. It was simple, straightforward, contained a few nice subplots, and wrapped up well in the end. Existing characters were further explored, and a few new names were introduced.

I continue to recommend this light mystery series. ( )

I shall not want is the second book in the series. A Rabbi who has a secret past and a Church secretary get caught right in the middle of a series of dog napping and murders right before Thanksgiving.I Shall not want is a murder mystery which involves a very wealthy charitable owner of show dogs, the homeless people and some dogs rescued from shelters. A very enjoyable plot. Very well written . ( )

It’s the Friday before Thanksgiving, an anything-can-happen-Friday, and church secretary, Cindy Prescott is not sure she can stand any more stress. Having mostly gotten over the serial killings she helped solve, she may be ready for a little more risk taking. But what she gets — dognappings and death — has her on edge. So does the whole Thanksgiving season. But she and Jeremiah, a rabbi with a secret, are determined to find out what is happening in their town.

The second installment in the Psalm 23 Mysteries, I Shall Not Want, is a great cozy mystery to pick up during your holiday. Filled with fun characters, a keeps-you-guessing mystery and the feel of Thanksgiving, this book is perfect for the in-between or instead-of football games times this week. Although it is the second book, it can certainly be read as a standalone. But if you have time, start with The Lord Is My Shepherd. And if you like the series as much as I do, you will be thrilled there are 7 books in all!

Recommended. ( )

Right before Thanksgiving, a Rabbi with a secret past, and a church secretary get caught in the middle of a series of murders and dog-nappings. I Shall not Want is a murder mystery involving a charitable wealthy owner of show dogs, the homeless population, and rescue dogs from shelters. Enticing story with steady pacing, that builds tension toward the end of the book. This is book 2 of the series and now I need to read book 1 which is about this duo and a serial killer that they stumble upon during Easter, hmmm I think there is a theme here. It’s a good book that I read on my kindle, 4 stars. ( )
