‘I stopped. He was staring again - this time at the ground behind me. I turned to see what had caught his attention.
Don’t - he began.

Mmmmm, fucking love me some young adult novels with magical girls as the main characters. I will read it all. Almost as much as I will read every YA dystopian novel I can find. Love them. Even when they're crap.

This one isn't crap, it's very good! I really, really liked the main character, she was funny in a way that was actually funny, she had some flaws and were confronted with them, she loves animals ... also, she's TOTALLY GAY and it bothers me that she doesn't realize. Come on girl, get with Sam. Plz. Ignore the boring dude.

My main problem is that I felt that it ended just as the plot had started. It didn't really have a story, but was more a set-up for the entire series as a whole. That's not bad necessarily, but I was still kinda waiting for it to start when the ending happened, so ... well, I guess I just have to pick up the sequels. ( )

After closing the last page and saying goodbye to Chloe in the [b:The Reckoning|6468666|The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3)|Kelley Armstrong|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1327154591s/6468666.jpg|6659237] I was very eager to read the next installment in Kelly Armstrongs YA series.

It was ok...but I didnt love it as much as the adventures of Chloe and the gang. The best word for my feelings about it would be, underwhelmed

It just lacked the thing that makes me love a book.

I couldnt really connect with maincharacter Maya, she struck me as a bit too composed. I wanted something to shake her up a bit and create a conflict.

Also the he part with her being a native american and being really into nature things struck me as very cliche.

This is the first book by KA that I skimmed the last part of. I wont rush to get the other books in this series.
