Robin when are you going to read The Red Tent? I am finishing up Freedom and starting Tarantula Woman. I'm not really feeling Freedom, but it is an interesting book. You might like it so try to read it when I am done. It's about major family dysfunction over three generations. Talk to you soon.

I love Dickens! He's so stuffy and proper....but for the record, I read all my Dickens in high school or college. I don't know if I would still love him as an adult. I have not snagged an early release book yet. Maybe I don't read fast enough for them or review enough books. If I could read more, I would post more reviews.

Hey Robin,
Last week-end I finished [The Thirteenth Tale] on audio. I enjoyed it so much that I am truly missing the company of the characters in the car with me. I was taken by many characters right down to Arellius(sp?).

*Tell me did you read [The House at Riverton] based on The Thirteenth Tale's recommendation?

I find myself drawn to that same prose and maybe it's the Englishness of it as well. Both ladies on audio were perfect.

I enjoyed your review of [The Forgotten Garden] and will try to find that book.

I just read your wonderful review of 'The Unit'.
It does sound interesting; refreshingly zombie-free as well which is oddly hard to find in PA lately.
Dystopian and post-apocalyptic lit are my weaknesses, I suppose it comes from a cold war childhood.

It is good to know that I am not alone in my addiction. Thankfully, my hubby has been sweet enough to build shelves for me as my collection expands although I think he dreads library sales, ha.
We are in Middletown actually,a little area outside of Anderson.
It is great to meet another "voracious" reader in the area!

Toronto is an amazing city...I think half the population were born outside Canada. Love all the different neighbourhoods...both our kids live there.
No, I have not read it yet (Weekends at Bellevue). I am very interested in mental health and volunteer at local hospital.
I remember working full time with school age kids and I did not read much then (except all the school related stuff!) Still miss reading to my kids (and classes).
Lovely to hear from you, Robin, and hope it's OK if I add you as a friend.

What a wonderful book, the Potato Pie, etc. is! Thanks for loaning it. It reminds me of 84 Charing Cross Road. And references to Charles Lamb and Joseph Addison in the first few chapters!

Hi,can you tell me how the book,I This Much Is True, was. I've seen it at the bookstore but haven't bought it yet. I'm half way done with Across a Hundred Mountains, I've all ready cried several times reading that book. I can't put it down.

Ken Follett's "Pillar of the Earth". Kind of hard getting into it, but I have read that is is excellent.
