Informazioni su di meI work for LibraryThing as a programmer. I can type fast.

A very lucky and happy guy... accompanied by amazing wife Rebecca and many cats. And soon... baby Lulu.

Informazioni sulla mia bibliotecaSomeday I should add all the programming books I've read (and other non-fiction). Not a cataloger so I generally just add books I've enjoyed reading so I can get recommendations... I love fiction but almost never get time to read it.

Oh, and yes, that's Jesus behind us.
ps - I understand if you don't want to step in already but wait and see what happens :-)

Hello Mike

I see you found the 'Anyone too poor for SantaThing?' thread http://www.librarything.com/topic/77517.

I like the idea and would like to support it - do you think there might be an easy way to add a feature in LT so people could pay to a SantaThing pool for others? It could be via paypal like the subscriptions.

Thank you for thinking about it or passing it on to somebody else in the LT team.

And thanks for contributing to LT :-)

Some Kindle books have ASIN numbers, no ISBN number, so they can't apparently be entered
into Add a book?
THANK YOU ,THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
I can breathe again.

I knew it wasn't completely gone since the total number was right, and every time I did a search, nothing would show up and when I went and added the book, it said there was a duplicate.

I' just glad it's back.

Thanks again.

Hi, Mike.
I don't know if you are the right person so please forward this to whom ever it should go to, PLEASSEE!

I just went to look at something on my wishlist (wishlist collection) which previously had close to 1000 books on it and they are ALL GONE!
I'm hyperventilating here!
I logged off and logged back in (both IE7 and Firefox) but it still says that the wishlist collection is empty. I know that the books are still on my all collections because the total is right but they are not in the wishlist collection or anywhere else.
What Happened?
Please help me.

Hi Mike,

I have received and a reviewed a book, so needless to say I have set up a reviewer's account. However, when I now try to request a book, it says I have no account. I then go the account page...and there it is...with no need of an edit.

Please advise what I am missing or doing incorrectly. Thanks!

Hi Mike,

I'm a new member and I'm curious to know what a book's popularity ranking means. How is that number calculated and what does it represent?

Thanks!
I added both of these tags in the Add Books section (I'm cataloguing this private library as part of a summer job).
Re: problem with tag data-

First, I don't have "Great Canadian Writing." I do have, and just added a tag to "Visigothic Spain : new approaches."

I believe I was on the main work page, http://www.librarything.com/work/2452294

As I have the book in my catalog some of the work details, including the tags, appear under the "Book information" header. I clicked the edit link under tags and added the tag "selection read" and clicked submit. I noticed that this field failed to reload instead going blank. But I clicked on the details link to the left and found that my new tag was present, so I moved on.

Hope that helps.

Hello Mike,
I was removing some tags using "Your Library".

Trelew
I did a mass change on the tags page, moving all of my books tagged library into the read but not owned collection. Before I did that, I didn't really read the directions on moving into collections, so I added a read but not owned tag to all of those, and then took it off, again from the tags page. I did a lot of books at once, though, not just these two.
Yeah, to put the tags on for Digital Fortress I clicked edit book whilst I was adding other books. I've done this with a couple of other books too. I can't remember anything different happening after tagging Digital Fortress, but I could have overlooked it.

I'm not sure this is what you were looking for and if it will help, but I hope it does. If there are anymore problems that you think I could help with just ask. ;)
